This season New Era celebrates a momentous shift in American baseball history which took place 60 years ago.
Businessman and owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Walter O’Malley, decided to move the team from their East Coast home to California in the hopes of developing the game on the West Coast. Brooklyn fans felt betrayed by the move and the decision shook, not only baseball, but the sports world as a whole. The controversial decision however, proved to be a defining moment in sporting history, and the LA Dodgers found immediate success in their new home.
To celebrate 60 years since the move, New Era present one of their most elevated collections to date, the pinnacle of which is a classic remake of the varsity jacket, which features luxe satin lining and leather pocket trims. The collection also includes the iconic 59FIFTY, a crew neck sweatshirt and T-shirt which recalls the fans efforts to save their cherished team.
