Kicking off on the 2nd of June, outdoor retailer, Go Outdoors will be hosting a five day campsite pop up.
The ‘#GOcation’ campsite will be available to book for overnight stays from the 2nd June until 5th June and will cover guests for all their staycation needs. Located on a secluded field in the depths of Kent, surrounded by towering forests, the enclosed campsite will be set-up with pre-pitched tents of varying sizes, tables and chairs and a communal relaxation area with a large fire pit. During stays at the #GOcation campsite guests will be invited to partake in a range of outdoor activities including walking and rounders. Complimentary welcome packs will include information booklets offering advice on local sites and attractions to visit while in the area as well as suggested bike and walking trails to enjoy.
GO Outdoors opens the fully equipped campsite for families to enjoy free of charge in the hope that it will encourage more Britons to enjoy the great British outdoors. The initiative has come out of research conducted by GO Outdoors which found that eight out of ten travellers felt that going abroad was now too stressful and that a holiday in the UK allowed them to have more fun and not feel exhausted when they arrived home. The research also revealed that fresh air, increased family time and minimal travel left 87% of respondents feeling happier and healthier, with almost a third sleeping better while on a domestic holiday as apposed to going abroad. As such, ‘Staycations’ have become increasingly popular and this June GO Outdoors will invite the public to experience a completely free camping ‘staycation’ when the outdoor retailer opens its first ever pop up campsite.
