Premium British brand, King & Tuckfield share their Autumn/Winter '17 collection.
The brand which has beautifully refined aesthetics and signature selvedge denim at its core, draws from a family archive of 1950’s photographs recollecting lazy summers framed against a windswept British coastal backdrop this season. At the heart of this King & Tuckfield collection is the story of Founder and Creative Director Stacey Wood’s family, with a 1950’s photograph of a family seaside excursion serving as a guiding motif throughout the collection.
Modern reinterpretations of mid-century silhouettes share rail-space with lux-led wardrobe staples where classic silhouettes are reinvented in utilitarian fabrics including Japanese-sourced denims and sustainable performance fabric, Tencel.
Key styles nod to Wood’s family. Grandmother King, a ballet teacher, can be seen within a bodysuit with a keyhole back, fit for demi plié’s on stage, and a 1950’s-inspired striped linen dress. The collection is imbued with a sophisticated palette of carnelian red and pearl blue set against a backdrop of navy, blush and cream shades.
The men’s collection takes a fresh approach to traditional tailoring, as demonstrated by a double-breasted blazer meticulously tooled in Japanese denim and paired with pleated high-rise trousers. A utility shirt in dusty yellow adds a highlight to a colour palette defined by pumpkin, pearl blue and indigo tones.
