Last night Slam City Skates & HUF launched a new shoe and capsule collection in celebration of their 30 year anniversary.
In 2007 Slam City Skates became the first UK stockists of Keith Hufnagel’s brand, so when the opportunity arose to collaborate with Keith and his team on an exclusive Slam City shoe, the store jumped at the chance.
When it came to picking which HUF model to work with, first and foremost Slam City Skates wanted to make something that had clean, classic looks without having to sacrifice great skate performance.
The Soto fitted the bill perfectly; it's a supportive cup sole shoe that has the board feel of a vulc with clean sportswear styling. Giving the shoe a premium upgrade by replacing the canvas panels with perforated suede and adding faux leather on the tongue, heel tab and 'H' logo. Slam City Skates worked on custom branding with HUF featuring Big Ben that is debossed in gold on the tongue, heel tab and insole.
London's most famous timepiece also appears throughout the rest of the capsule. A T-Shirt, cap and socks into the equation and are stoked on the outcome of this limited collection that is available now exclusively from Slam City. To accompany the release the brands have made a skate edit featuring Slam & HUF riders Jacob Harris & Rory Milanes, filmed by Mark Jackson and a look book also featuring Rory Milanes, shot by Alec Mcleish.
