Last week saw Stockholm based accessories brand, SANDQVIST opened their first stand alone shop outside of Sweden.
Located on Berwick Street, the architectural design of the store is influenced by Scandinavian nature and functionality. With a space of approximately 920 sq ft, Fredrik Nilsby from Dawn of Ideas, who has also designed the SANDQVIST stores in Sweden, designed the store interior. Nilsby has included a collection of fir ply, milled and painted paneling, galvanised steel framework, concrete floors and marble table surfaces.
The opening of the London flagship comes as part of the latest strategy the brand is embarking on, with the aim of launching multiple flagships outside of Sweden, SANDQVIST's London location will also feature the first complete women’s collection this August. The ‘Leather Classics’ and ‘Icons’ collections include statement styles and premium leathers, such as the ‘Elsa’ and ‘Monica’, which bring an element of minimalist luxury to the range. The ‘Alva’ and the ‘Hege’ are two popular styles, which will now be available in a new navy colour way and sold exclusively at the London store during the first week of release. Along with the new releases will be the full Sandqvist product range of 130 styles and the brand’s first vegan ‘Lightweight’ collection. This collection differs from Sandqvist’s signature theme of outdoor living and nature, and instead is aimed at a younger customer with simplistic bags in light, strong and water repellent ripstop polyester.
