The Scandinavian brand established by Malte Flagstaff alongside Adam El-Zayat in 2013 kicked off the Copenhagen Autumn/Winter 2016 shows earlier this afternoon.
Celebrating the 'Old World' in their forthcoming collection, delving into the lives of the most prized possessions of a travellers home, from the deserts of Africa to the misty hills of Japan. Inspired by the technique and look of rag rug carpets, the brand have announced their exclusive collaboration with Copenhagen Fur. Utilising left over furs, the AW16 collection weaves the fur with a neoprene backing to create a new take on fur this coming winter.
As well as this Tonsure have used light blue virgin wool with a PU treatment which mirrors a wall-to-wall carpet which has been transformed into a patchwork duffle coat with rag rug carpet and pinstripe wool mixed in.
Technical fabric combined with fur creates a lovely contrast of the new and old world while an exclusive rag rug silk print developed from woven fabric scraps, breathes new life into something as mundane as a rag rug.
