Continuing to develop and progress the idea of a magazine dedicated to sneaker collecting and the surrounding cultures, Crep City launch issue number 003 by TDS agency.
Issue 003 marks change, with a new larger format, a partnership with renowned typographers Colophon Foundry, and a new approach to the flow of content throughout the magazine. However, the premium paper stocks, luxurious finishes, and high quality content that garnered the magazine attention from issue 01 are still on show.
This issue dives deeper into the people and cultures connected to sneakers, with a wide range of features and editorials including interviews with Walt “Clyde” Frazier, Jon Tang of FRONTEER, and Christian Tressor, designer of the Nike Zoom Air Spiridon; essays on the history and legacy of adidas Equipment, and the changing landscape for women in sneakers; and photographic editorials on the new adidas Originals EQT, Nike Pony Hair Pack, and luxury sneaker market. Contributors for this issue include Rebecca Naen, Gary Warnett, Constance Victoria Phillips, Bruno Drummond, Nellie Eden, David Hellqvist, Charlotte Moss, Chris Aylen, Megan Ann Wilson, Teddy Fitzhugh, Ollie Adegboye, Tiago Chediak, Jesse May Fisher, and Dom Fleming.
The new larger format gives more space to showcase the content within, such as the regular archive section inspired by the archival magazines of Japan, which sees the inclusion of an interview with this issue’s collector, Edson Sabajo of Patta. Continuing to offer a choice of covers, issue 03 showcases the two loves of sneakerheads; amazing sneakers and the cultures they come from. CREPE CITY have once again teamed up with photographer Bruno Drummond to shoot a super-minimalist adidas Originals EQT cover story featuring the EQT ADV PK that draws inspiration from the original design mantra of the 1990s Equipment line – Everything that is essential.
