London based artist and creative director, Hypemari is set to launch his solo exhibition, Night Crawler in Amsterdam.
Starting his journey as a Street photographer in 2011, Hypemari soon developed a style that continuously gave viewers a sense of an emotion for the ever changing state of our surroundings and connection with each subject he captured.
An astute observer of lifestyle, art and fashion; Hypemari's Street Photography series has taken him to some of the most vibrant cities such as Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin & LA - Proof of an artist equally comfortable with the familiar and the unknown. His body of works brings to light the different states of human conditions that can only be revealed through the experiences that exploration and travelling brings. Often taking on the role of a ghost slipping between alleys and city shortcuts, photojournalism and documentation is just one way Hypemari shares his vision. In pursuit of understanding and his need for exploration, Hypemari often finds himself exploring in various forms. Heavily influenced and appreciator of urban lifestyle, another medium that Hypemari works in is Graffiti/Street Art.
A unique exposition and creative collaboration with Amsterdam-based collective HÄCKA. NIGHTCRAWLER is both a retrospective and an affirmation, inspired by the dark. Liberated from regime and structure, inner light radiates under the cover of darkness.
New forms of expression manifest and extrapolate from the everyday – people, landscapes, sounds, objects. Ego unfolds as the creep obliterates and assimilates.
The exposition runs from 2nd – 22nd November in an old bakery situated in the Jordaan; Amsterdam’s original neighbourhood.
Friday 2nd November, 1800 - 2100
