This summer, Pace London's Burlington Gardens gallery opens its doors to two new exhibitions.
Located on the ground floor, Pace present Faux Guide, a solo exhibition by Yto Barrada. In this exhibition Barrada explores palaeontology, museology and natural history in Morocco.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Mack Books have published A Guide to Fossils for Forgers and Foreigners, a catalogue of Barrada’s new work and a patchwork of texts written and selected by the artist with her trademark humour, subtlety and wit.
Whilst the 1st floor of 6 Burlington Gardens will play home to a group exhibition curated by CHEWDAY'S.
Exhibiting the works of; Sara Barker, Philomene Pirecki, Cédric Eisenring, Mathis Gasser, Scott Lyall, Sergei Tcherepnin and Tobias Madison, Signal Failure is an exhibition inspired by the works of Agnes Martin.
Taking the irreproducible nature of Martin’s work and her life of self-imposed solitude as a point of departure, Signal Failure showcases a younger generation of artists whose work attempts to reclaim pockets of space, resistant to the speed of communication and the ever-expanding flood of digital images. Often employing tools of mass reproduction and communication, the constructs of transmission and circulation are slowed down to a level of acute perception.
Both exhibitions will run until the 8th of August with free entry to all. Pace London is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10-6pm. For more information visit their website.
